Meet Chrissy:
The Peaceful Sleeper
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, practicing for over 13 years. I dedicated my graduate education to researching attachment, and my post-graduate education to understanding the science of sleep as well as uncovering what it takes for women to thrive (and not just survive) in motherhood and marriage.
When I had my first baby, I was sleep deprived and felt SO overwhelmed. As I tried to figure out how to be a good mom, I felt lost in the contradictory and often “shame-y” information out there, especially about sleep. I knew there had to be a better way to connect with and teach parents without making them feel like sh*t.
So I set out to do ALL of the research and I created a method to optimize baby sleep that is tuned in, empowering and WORKS. There absolutely should be joy in motherhood, and I have learned that every baby CAN get better sleep!

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I buy the course, the guide pack, or both?
Ultimately, the course and the guide pack are the perfect pair for everything you need to know about getting great newborn sleep (which is why they are bundled together and you save money by buying them together!) I highly recommend getting them both at the same time, as together, they are the most comprehensive and robust newborn sleep resources out there!
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for course(s), guide pack(s), and/or consultations?
Yes! You will likely need to get a letter of medical necessity signed by your healthcare provider. Click here for more information and a sample letter.
Can I buy the troubleshooting guides separately?
The troubleshooting guides are sold as part of the content library because they work together to give you comprehensive and robust answers to the most common questions and topics. You will also find that many of the guides pair well together!
How do I access the content library, courses and guides, after purchase?
After you have purchased the course(s) or guide pack(s), go to our homepage and click “login” in the top right corner. Once you enter your email address and password, there will be a menu on the left-hand side of the page. All of your guides will be under “my downloads” and the course(s) you purchase will be under “courses”.
What does “zone of proximal development” mean?
When we are referring to your child’s “zone of proximal development” we are talking about the space or distance between what they can do completely independently and what they can do with adult guidance and support. We don’t want to be teaching our children a skill that is “too easy” for them (one they can already do completely independently) and it’s not productive to try and teach our children a skill that is “too hard” (one they require adult guidance and support with). Optimal learning happens in the space between “too easy” and “too hard”; their zone of proximal development.
I’m not sure what product is best for me, can you help me choose?

Is your 4-24 Month Course about “Sleep Training” or “Sleep Learning”, and what is the difference?
“Sleep learning” means teaching your baby independent sleep skills in a way that honors both of your learning styles. With sleep learning, we are meeting your baby where they are at (in their zone of proximal development) and then using a gradual release of responsibility to guide and support them to more independence as they are developmentally ready, at a pace that works for them. For some babies and children, a more accelerated pace works best and for others, a more gradual pace is best. The key to sleep learning is YOU learning to tune into your baby so you know how to best support and guide them. And we can help!
In the 4-24 month course, you will learn that sleep learning is a collaborative growth process where you are working WITH your baby. You are laying the foundation for optimal sleep while honoring your parenting values and choices AND honoring the learning style and needs of your baby.
“Sleep Training” has so many negative connotations associated with it, and it leads many parents to feel guilt and shame if they even consider wanting to “sleep train” their baby. And it is hard to define because so many people have defined it in so many different ways.
This is why The Peaceful Sleeper is defining “sleep learning” as a method that simply means teaching your baby independent sleep skills in a way that works for both of you.
Will my private Insurance cover course(s), guide pack(s), and/or consultations?
It depends on your country/state and insurance provider, however, we strongly recommend you contact them to inquire! You may need a letter of medical necessity signed by your healthcare provider. Click here for more information and a sample letter.

Why The Peaceful Sleeper?
Giving your little one the gift of sleep is one of the most beneficial things you can ever do for them. Good sleep helps your baby develop physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. Having a well-rested, happy baby drastically transforms the experience of motherhood. Postpartum depression, anxiety, stress and overwhelm are significantly diminished allowing you to enjoy motherhood and your baby in a whole new way. Happier babies, happier mamas, happier marriages. Good sleep changes EVERYTHING.
I really like that there are videos and also a written out plan. Unfortunately, I have one of those “tricky” babies. I have just scheduled a consultation and I’m looking forward to getting some additional help!
our baby was a horrible sleeper and is now sleeping 7-7! this course is wonderful!
The peaceful sleeper is amazing! I purchased this on recommendation from a friend who used it with her first child. I am a first time mom and my son is 4.5 months old. We were getting by with some decent stretches at night until the 4 month sleep regression hit. It was like having a newborn again, up every 45mins to 2 hours but worse because he is so much more aware. We resorted to some co sleeping just to get some sleep but the peaceful sleeper changed all of that for us! By night 3 Harrison slept through the night, woke up to eat and went right back to sleep! I never thought I’d sleep again but here I am! Best decision as a mom iv made so far for him and I ! I like the length of the timers I feel like they give him a good amount of time to self soothe without me just jumping in. I also like that there is a lot of flexibility in these methods it’s not hard and fast. Chrissy makes you feel like it’s okay to listen to your mom gut and baby without feeling judged or comparing to other babies/families. She has 4 children and has used 2 of the methods so she has a lot of knowledge. I’m excited to keep these documents for my next child and will likely purchase the newborn guild next time. Finally I will say he guide us very affordable and not $300-400 dollars like some. I would 100% recommend her and I have to many of my friends! Thank you Chrissy!!
A lot of great information! We got our baby sleeping after a couple of weeks. We did end up getting reflux medication and we wouldn’t have considered that if I didn’t have the information from this course!
Chrissy’s succinct, organized, calm teaching style really worked for me to ease my own anxieties and stress through the sleep training process. Taking the newborn course followed by the 4-24 month course made me feel informed and confident and taught me the skills I need to help my baby sleep. I sleep trained before starting daycare to give my baby a better shot at getting good naps there.
I did the sleep training with my oldest and that was 5 years ago, so I was excited to see the updates and experience this time around with my new little one! My little one is almost 4 months and we have been working on prepping him to sleep train and the videos and education has been so empowering to help me in those tired and hard moments!
Loved the course, used it for my first baby and now again for my second. Works wonders and the best investment we made for our own sleep!
We did the modified accelerated with our 4.5 mo old and it took about 2 weeks for baby to start falling asleep within 20-30 min. Some naps/nights it’s longer (60 min) with a lot more protest but usually closer to around 30 min. There was a lot of helpful information, however I felt like there was a lot of fluff too. I would have liked to learn some more trouble shooting tips and things like that. I was glad to have the instagram page and blog as well to help fill some of the gaps. I think it mostly helped with giving me the confidence to start the sleep learning process which is what I really needed.
The course has been super helpful thusfar! It took only 3-4 days for my son to put himself to sleep at night!
Very thorough and I like the different styles for sleep training. Thank you!
Incredibly helpful!! I loved that it emphasised being intuitive around your own baby and what’s best along with the guidance.
As I sit on my couch drinking my morning cup of coffee, I reflect on that just three weeks ago this wasn’t possible. It wasn’t possible because my baby wouldn’t let me. She had no idea how to sleep. So there I sat, rocking, feeding, groaning from lack of sleep on my part. I was desperate for sleep. On the day she turned 4 months old I started sleep training her with The Peaceful Sleeper. In just one week she is able to put herself to sleep. She did sooo much better than I ever anticipated. I read the guide, I implemented what the guide said, and it worked! She is sleeping 7-7. She is so much happier after sleeping all night!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I was amazed how quickly our babe learned the skill of sleep initiation and as the days passed her night stretches got longer and longer. Two weeks in, and our barely 6 month old is doing one wake up at dawn and giving us over 10 hour stretches!!
This was a good reference and jumping off point to begin sleep training. I thought it was a helpful document to come back to when we experienced different issues in our sleep training journey.
This was a game changer in helping me as a first time mom get us ALL more sleep. I loved how there were options that were not only strict cry it out – lots of modifications were shared – and they WORKED!! My 5mo old now self initiates her sleep and I don’t have to fret that when I put her in the crib for nap/bedtime, she will wake or fuss before going down. No fussing here and sleep for all! And we didn’t have to do any cry it out. This would not have been possible without the help and knowledge I received from this guide. Thank you!!!!!!
