Body Acceptance and Neutrality

Body Acceptance and Neutrality: Part 2 of the ‘Self-Acceptance Series’

A lot of people equate self-worth and their confidence to how their bodies look. We have got to stop this body obsession!

A Body Is A Body

Everyone has a body, and everyone’s body is shaped differently. We spend too much time wishing what our bodies look like and that’s so damaging. That’s why it’s so important to love an accept what we’ve got.

It took me a LONG time to accept the body that I’ve had. People say, “Well that’s easy for you to say to love your body, you’re skinny!”

I had an eating disorder for 6 years, and it started when I weighed 113 pounds and I thought I should weigh 110 pounds. This mindset that my body wasn’t “good” enough sent me through a negative cycle that I had to claw my way out of.

I’ve thankfully been out of the cycle for 10 years now, and this is what I’ve learned:

-This is the body that God gave me

-No body is perfect

-No bodies are the same

-We need to neutralize all the “imperfections” that we see

“Imperfections” are what make you and your body unique!

Just go look at my Instagram video about this, my body looks weird! But my body works fine, it’s bore 3 children, and it’s beautiful for that and all that it’s given me.

Here’s My Challenge to You

Look at your own body and love and accept it. Look and embrace what it does for you! If you do this your life will be so much better!

I have 3 daughters, and the way that we talk about our bodies impacts them so much! Be body neutral not just for yourself, but for your kids, and always come from a place that is loving and grounded.

Xoxo,

Chrissy
